Parents
Parents are always welcome to visit the school but it is essential that you call the school office first or arrange your visit via email on 8692002@sims-communications.co.uk. You can also find out lots of information in our Parents’ Handbook.
If you wish to see the Principal to discuss any school matter, please contact the school office to make an appointment, again via email above or on our office telephone number.
If you have concerns or worries about any aspect of your child’s education do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s class teacher or the Principal via admin@highwoodcopse.co.uk. Where possible we resolve difficulties through informal meetings but, if necessary, there are formal complaint procedures available from the school office.
Our teachers are often available immediately after school, but we would advise you to telephone the school office beforehand to ensure that they have no previous commitment. It is also helpful if you can let us know the reason for your visit so that the teacher can prepare appropriately.
Parents Meetings
Parents meetings are held each term. Children’s work is shared and their progress is discussed. These meetings are a maximum of 10 minutes long, so if you wish to have a lengthier discussion, please arrange to see the teacher at another time. Wherever possible appointments for meetings with your child’s teacher will be made at a time to suit you.
Again, the best time to have a meaningful discussion would be after 3.30pm when we are available to devote more time to you.
Keeping In Touch
Parents receive a termly newsletter via a link through an email, giving information about the term's events, forthcoming school activities and a general insight into the progress different year groups have been making. EYFS parents can also follow their child’s experiences via a Tapestry account.
Parent WhatsApp Groups
Most years have a parent WhatsApp group to aid communication around school events; these groups are a very useful and efficient way of sharing information and building the school community.
